Welcome to Alpine Fly Fishers

History:

Alpine Fly Fishers was organized in the spring of 1973 by some fly fishing enthusiasts who wanted more from the sport of fly fishing. The club now consists of approximately 30 individuals who meet regularly to promote and enjoy the great sport of fly fishing. The Club is an affiliate chapter of the Federation of Fly Fishers and a member of the Washington State Council Federation of Fly Fishers. Come fish with us ... the waters beckon.

Activities:

Alpine Fly Fishers participate in many areas of the sport of fly fishing and fish conservation:

  • Fishing Reports
  • Casting Clinics
  • Midnight Fishing Trips

Meeting place - Niftys Sports Bar - Pub and Grill
We seemed to have settled in to Niftys well. There is good food, drink, and a meeting room with adequate size and privacy. We are in the room in the back, the door is on the side, just walk past the bar, down the hall and take a left at the first door.
Please see the map page for the best directions. It lies about a 1.2 miles north of the Canyon Road/ I-512 interchange on the west side of Canyon Road.
This change in venue necessitated a change in meeting days. The fourth Tuesday of the month seems to conflict the least with the meetings of the PSFF and SSFF clubs and fits the schedule available at Niftys.

Alpine Fly Fishers now meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. The meetings will be informal during the months of July and August with no planned speakers. Evening events consist of socializing, member reports of recent outings, dinner, followed by a fly fishing equipment raffle and an educational program. Past programs have included speakers such as Darrell Martin, John Shewey, Trey Combs, and Mike Maxwell as well as many local guides, outfitters, biologists, and fisheries experts. The membership is diverse in its fishing interests, friendly, and within it lies a great deal of knowledge of the sport. Most of us live in the Puyallup, Tacoma, Auburn, and Enumclaw areas. Please come to our meeting and join in the fun. We often bring our own young fly fishers to the meetings and they are welcome to attend.
